Despite all of the fried, sweet, or cheesy recipes on this blog, we tend to eat healthy most of the time. How? Our 5-Day Grub Plan really helps to alleviate the guesswork involved in figuring out what to eat every day. But in addition to that, we have some tried and true, go-to foods that we almost-always incorporate into our daily diet. For example, I eat an apple every singe day. It’s like brushing my teeth first thing in the morning.

Vegetables are foods we’ve made a habit of eating every day. For optimal health, we really should be eating at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables each day. And though that might seem like alot, it’s definitely feasible. If you can become an apple junkie, like us, and follow the recipe below to make your daily vegetables, you’ll be well on your way to achieving the recommended amount. Incorporating vegetables into your day, and enjoying it at the same time, doesn’t have to be too difficult. Here is a simple recipe for making an Asian-style vegetable stir fry, with the vegetables of your choice. You can keep it in the refrigerator for a whole week, so that you always have a supply of vegetables ready to go. Cook up a pot on the weekend, and have a serving on the side of your lunch or dinner each day during the work week. Try it!

Simple Ingredients List

*This recipe doesn’t have specific amounts, because it depends on the type and amount of vegetables you use, as well as your preference for amount of sauce, sweetness, spice, etc. Be sure to taste as you cook, and add additional spices if needed to suit your taste buds*

  • Vegetables of your choice – works great with string beans, broccoli, peppers, and cauliflower
  • Onions, thinly sliced
  • Minced garlic
  • Honey
  • Soy Sauce
  • Ginger Powder
  • Olive Oil
  • Red Pepper Flakes
  • Curry Powder (optional – I add this sometimes for a nice curry kick)

Directions

Add all of the ingredients into a wok, non-stick pan, or pot. Be light with the olive oil and soy sauce. Add in a bit of water to help the vegetables steam. Cook, eat, and enjoy!
